LibKey Nomad - DTAC documentation
Digital Technology Assessment Criteria (DTAC) gives staff, patients and citizens confidence that the digital health tools they use meet our clinical safety, data protection, technical security, interoperability and usability and accessibility standards. Many local IT teams require a completed DTAC before they will agree to implement LibKey Nomad. The attached pre-populated form and associated documents are designed to help you evidence that Nomad is acceptable technology for the NHS. Over forty Trusts have already implemented Nomad showing that it is widely accepted. Take a look at this case study from Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. There have been no adverse effects and use of licenced and open access literature has increased in those organisations, contributing to patient care and the cost effectiveness of services. In addition to the DTAC form, your Trust may ask you to complete a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA). An example of one of these with organisational information removed can help you answer any questions in your local version. Third Iron have a Trust Center page that brings together supporting information and documentation of certifications achieved.

Can I add an alternate name / acronym for my Trust to my Third Iron account?
When users are accessing LibKey.io or setting up LibKey Nomad they may need to select your Trust from a dropdown list. The list used is searchable and they can enter any part of the Trust name to narrow down. While Third Iron does not support alternate names / aliases for organisations they can support acronyms by adding it to the Trust name. Users may sometimes find it easier to enter the acronym for your Trust rather than the Trust name. Third Iron recommend using parentheses with the acronym placed before or after the organisation name. Examples Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ETZ (Elisabeth TweeSteden Hospital) Please note the change to your Trust name on your Third Iron account will be reflected where ever Third Iron use it. If you feel this would be helpful for your users please log a request via the Service Desk.

Links are already in place for Ovid, EBSCOHost and Proquest. Other publishers / suppliers to consider. How does LibKey Nomad work with EBSCO HLM for ebooks?
Third Iron have added the ability for LibKey Nomad to link to ebooks that are included in your holdings via EBSCO HLM in the Hub. You can find details of the websites where LibKey Nomad will function in this way on the Third Iron Support Page LibKey Nomad E-Books Linking but platforms include Amazon and Google Books. A large number of publisher sites will offer an enhanced linking experience. The holdings are based directly on the ebooks you have identified for linking via HLM therefore any inaccuracies in your holdings information there will cause incorrect links to appear. This integration does not alter the records used for discovery of ebooks in the Hub. Where you do not have a declared holding the LibKey Nomad button will not appear on external websites so you will not see ILL requests generated via this route. Third Iron are working on making it possible to use LMS ebook holdings to power Nomad but at present it is not possible to use Koha or the other regional systems to do this. This integration has been applied to all Hub instances.

What happens if we need to merge Third Iron accounts?
Organisational changes such as mergers can result in there being multiple Third Iron accounts attached to a single organisation. To avoid confusion, complexity and rework a plan should be made to move to the most appropriate Third Iron account to support the new service arrangements. Third Iron cannot merge accounts and the process is more around dealing with the consequences of deactivating an account. Third Iron have worked to reduce the impact of such changes on end users. You should select the account with the largest existing user base to minimise the number of people who may be inconvenienced. The account name can be tweaked if required to reflect the new status - this often involves simplification of any temporary arrangement such as (Your Hospital NHS Trust - South sites) (Your Hospital NHS Trust - North sites) to (Your Hospital NHS Trust) For LibKey Nomad If the deactivating Trust had used a site-wide install of LibKey Nomad (using Microsoft Group Policy), they will want to ensure the library ID is replace by the other before deactivation Individual installs of LibKey Nomad will be prompted to select the revised Library account name via the usual selection process For LibKey Links ie in the Hub and EBSCOHost - the continuing account with LibKeyID/API key will be linked as part of any merger process (by the Service Desk team) and users will not notice a change The merged HLM will supply the data so ensuring the validity of collection data on the Hub remains critical Integrations such as PubMed and Google Scholar will continue to use the selected account In the event a change has not been made correctly the user will be presented a custome screen confirming that the subscription has expired and inviting them to select the current account via the Find your library search For Browzine Presents an experience that is optimized for the end-user. Briefly says the library is not subscribed and then lands on the WAYF "choose library" screen, where the user can quickly filter for the correct Trust. For INCDocs Users do not see these screens and therefore only minimal development has been completed for this eventuality. An error message is returned and library teams should check if they are using the correct account at this point. The old account is deleted and will no longer receive INCDocs requests or be able to request.
