How does LibKey Nomad work with EBSCO HLM for ebooks?

Modified on: Fri, 9 May 2025 13:08

Third Iron have added the ability for LibKey Nomad to link to ebooks that are included in your holdings via EBSCO HLM in the Hub.

You can find details of the websites where LibKey Nomad will function in this way on the Third Iron Support Page LibKey Nomad E-Books Linking but platforms include Amazon and Google Books.  A large number of publisher sites will offer an enhanced linking experience.

The holdings are based directly on the ebooks you have identified for linking via HLM therefore any inaccuracies in your holdings information there will cause incorrect links to appear.  This integration does not alter the records used for discovery of ebooks in the Hub.

Where you do not have a declared holding the LibKey Nomad button will not appear on external websites so you will not see ILL requests generated via this route.

Third Iron are working on making it possible to use LMS ebook holdings to power Nomad but at present it is not possible to use Koha or the other regional systems to do this.

This integration has been applied to all Hub instances.
