How do I administer my print journal holdings in EBSCO Holdings Manager?
Print journals have been copied from the Ovid Link Resolver to EBSCO's Holdings Management (HLM). They appear in HLM as a 'custom' collection and the collection may be named 'Local print collection' or similar. If you wish to amend them, you can make manual changes to individual titles in HLM. Alternatively, you can download the whole collection, open it as a spreadsheet and make changes, then upload the amended version. You can upload the whole collection again, or delete the unchanged lines from the spreadsheet and just upload a file of the publications you have changed. You will need to save the amended spreadsheet as a tab-delimited .txt file or a .csv file before uploading. There is information about downloading on the EBSCO Connect website. There is information about uploading on the EBSCO Connect website. Choose the Full Text Finder upload format. If you need to upload a new collection, e.g. because your print journals aren't in HLM already, you can use the spreadsheet template below. You should then review the uploaded titles and correct any anomalies manually in HLM. There is an FAQ on how to enter journal coverage dates in HLM. There is an FAQ on how print journals display in the Knowledge and Library Hub.

How do I use the Notes field in Journals A-Z/Publication Finder?
Notes are customisable and can be assigned to any holdings added in HLM for both managed resources (selected from the Knowledge Base) and custom resources (i.e., additional holdings which are uploaded via spreadsheet) as a custom package or as individual items assigned to a custom package. For example, you can use the Notes field to add "available on request" for material that has to be retrieved from store. For information on adding and assigning Notes please see Holdings Management - Adding, Editing, and Assigning Notes Tutorial https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/Holdings-Management-Adding-Editing-and-Assigning-Notes-Tutorial?language=en_US

Will modifications to nationally purchased content be managed centrally or will each local admin need to update national holdings?
The Knowledge Hub Service Desk team will work with EBSCO to manage nationally purchased content centrally. There should be no need for local admins to make changes to national content. However, local admins do need to maintain their local holdings. The article Which holdings do I need to maintain in EBSCO Holdings Manager? has more detail on managing your local holdings.

If we have a subscription to Ovid Medline or Ovid EMBASE, does it link to our full text articles?
OVID Medline and EMBASE are Abstract and Index (A&I) only databases. To provide access to full text content you will need to configure the Full Text Finder link resolver by selecting the appropriate databases in Holdings Management. Full text links for your users are determined by your holdings data. Holdings Management is where your holdings data is stored. EBSCO have taken your current holdings data from the OVID link resolver. For further information please see Holdings Management - Adding or Removing Packages from Your Holdings https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/Holdings-Management-Adding-or-Removing-Packages-from-Your-Holdings?language=en_US ; Adding, Editing, and Assigning Full Text Finder Links in Holdings Management https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/Adding-Editing-and-Assigning-Full-Text-Finder-Links-in-Holdings-Management?language=en_US .

How can I see what changes have been made to my packages by EBSCO?
You can find out what changes have been made to your packages by running a report in EBSCOadmin. These changes include titles added to your packages, and titles removed from your packages. Please see the FAQ on EBSCO Connect. The reports do not track packages added or removed from your HLM. Where EBSCO believes you have a subscription to a package or journal title these are added automatically. If you cancel a subscription EBSCO normally allow a grace period and during this period any subscriptions will continue to be added automatically to your HLM even if you delete them. To avoid this you should use the option to "hide" any package that you no longer wish to have appear. This status will not be altered by the EBSCO process and will mean the links are not displayed to your users. If you are unsure then please log a ticket with the Service Desk.

Why do Packages and Journals we do not subscribe to appear in HLM?
There have been ongoing issues reported with Packages and titles being unexpectedly selected in HLM and reappearing when they are deleted. A significant reason for this is the operation of the Auto-population process by EBSCO. This adds and updates items automatically when your subscriptions change. EBSCO allows a grace period so you may find that you continue to see things auto populate for a period after your subscription ends. To avoid issues the simplest solution is to "Hide" any Packages or Journal titles where you do not have live subscriptions. More information on Hiding in HLM. If you have examples of long cancelled subscriptions reviving in this way then please report them to the Service Desk. You can also read more about how the Auto-population works.

How do I sort out Hub/LibKey links to articles not routing to the correct supplier platform?
You may occasionally find that links to journal articles route to a platform for which you don't have access. For example, a journal title which you should access via Oxford Academic is instead being routed to the ScienceDirect platform. To sort this out, find the package which includes the journal title in Holdings Management in your instance(s) of the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. When linking out from EDS via Full Text Finder, the links set in the "Links" tab within Holdings Management are being used. In these cases, "CrossRef (Article)" link set above the "Publication Finder (Books & Journals)" link. The link used by CrossRef (Article) will be different to the one in "Publication Finder (Books & Journals)" which uses the Managed URL set by the title, and can be found in 'Details.'. You will need to remove the CrossRef link and use the "Publication Finder (Books & Journals)" link instead. The "CrossRef (Article)" link has its benefits as it links using the DOI it can link straight to the article, so only remove if it is routing to the incorrect platform for your subscription.
