The IP Registry is a global IP address database for libraries and publishers. They validate IP ranges, and keep them accurate and up to date, so that publishers can ensure they’re allowing access to content to the correct people. 

Oxford University Press have told us that they’re using the IP registry to ensure they’re enabling access our NHS core content collection correctly. 

This means that if your organisation has its own IP range, you need to register with the IP Registry and give them the details. It’s quick and easy to do, and doesn’t cost you anything. The IP Registry then check and validate the range, and make the data available to publishers. 

We have registered the HSCN IP range with them separately, so if you’re on the NHS network, there is no action to take.
