How do I set up access to Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures and Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines via IP addresses or referring URLs?

Modified on: Mon, 17 Jun 2024 10:08

It is possible to access Royal Marsden Manual by IP address and referring URL.

IP addressing

  • Available for Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures and Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines
  • This is only possible if you have fixed or static IP address ranges for your NHS Organisation.
  • If you want to set up IP access, please create a ticket with the Support Desk.

Referring URLs

  • Available only for Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures
  • For use on intranets only (not public websites).  For more information see https://www.rmmonline.co.uk/static-pages/content-1#Access and the Referring URL Access section.
  • Create a ticket with the Support Desk and include the URLs of the pages on which you want to link to Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures.
  • Once Wiley has approved them, you may add a link to the Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures to the pages you registered.

Note:  you will need to add the Get Referrer URL extension to your browser.

  • In Chrome, click the three dots, select Settings and then Extensions. Find and install the Get Referrer URL extension.
  • In Microsoft Edge, click the three dots and then select Extensions.  Click Manage extensions and get the Get Referrer URL extension via the Chrome Web Store link.
  • If you have a problem with your referring URL, Wiley will need this information:
    • full browser screenshots of the page(s) with the referral link
    • the URL of the page(s)
    • the exact time you experienced the problem with the referral link
    • the information returned by clicking the Chrome Extension “Get Referrer URL”

Note: If the referrer is not the same as expected or none or HIDDEN – then you know that some security policy setting is suppressing the information and you will need to contact your local IT / Intranet security team to investigate.
